Boardriders Europe Spotlighting Surfing's Future
For many years, surfing in the Landes region has been synonymous with the Quiksilver brand. Events such as the iconic Quiksilver Pro France stop on the World Tour, and the much-loved Quiksilver Festival have all contributed to a thriving surfing landscape and community in Landes.
"Fostering and recognizing emerging talent has always been a core mission of the Quiksilver and Roxy brands," said Nicolas Foulet, Boardriders Europe CEO. "The Pro Junior events offer young athletes the chance to sharpen their competitive skills, elevate performance-both individually and collectively-and, just as importantly, deepen their connection to the surfing community and culture."
"For us, showcasing surfing's state-of-the-art at venues like the Pro France and Quiksilver Festival is just as vital as spotlighting its future. We're proud to support the 2025 Junior Pro and excited to see what lies ahead for our sport."
Landes is world-renowned for their waves, and they are committed to the development of surfing.
"I would like to commend the commitment of the communities and particularly the town of Capbreton," said Xavier Fortinon, President of the Landes Departmental Council. "It is in this spirit of kindness that we have chosen to support the organization of the event and to allow young Landes surfers to access it. The Junior Tour is indeed the beginning of the professional championship, the best seeds of champions compete there. This event for young people is fully consistent with our sports policies and ambitions for the Landes territory."
"Bringing the Junior Pro back to Capbreton after several years is a powerful moment for us," said Stéphane Marteau, Event Organiser and Director of MC Box Events. "It's a symbolic milestone that rewards the dedication of an entire team passionate about surfing and youth. We're proud to help bring this kind of event to life on our coastline."
"The Quiksilver Junior Pro is part of Capbreton's DNA," said Louis Galdos, Mayor of Capbreton. "For many years, our town has shared with this event a story built on loyalty, passion, and waves. Welcoming this competition once again means keeping alive a tradition that is dear to our hearts and offering young surfers the opportunity to write their own chapter in this beautiful adventure. It strongly echoes the mission of our Pierre Agnes Center, which is committed to supporting sport for all - from early childhood to the highest level."
Former World Tour surfer and Hossegor local, Miky Picon is "the godfather" of this event. Together with Quiksilver, ROXY and the Department of Landes, they have assigned wildcards to local stars Hugo Flori, Ethan Fernandez, Lee-Ann Boudine and Charlie Leguay.
